Shubert Theatre
Since 1914, the Shubert Theatre has served as an artistic cornerstone of the New Haven community, and has played a vibrant role in the world of American theater. As a performing arts venue, it has been the starting point of several notable Broadway productions, and has presented, inspired, and celebrated local, national, and international talent of the highest quality. Alongside its onstage productions, the Shubert Theatre has left an immense impact on the New Haven community through its educational and outreach programs, and has continued to make the arts accessible to everyone.
As a designer at the Shubert Theatre, I have created a wide range of design and marketing pieces that help the Shubert share its story, build on its legacy, and fulfill its mission- these include page layouts for show programs, digital display ads, flyers for educational programs, billboards, promotional videos, lobby TV graphics, social media graphics, and direct mail pieces. |
Page Layout Design
* The 110th Anniversary Season version of the Shubert logo (shown above) and background pattern were designed by Iván Bustillo- I incorporated these into the Corporate Club brochure above that I created.
HADESTOWN Graphics
During my time as a graphic designer at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, CT, I have worked on marketing related graphics for several shows in a production capacity: this has involved working with existing show art and branding, and applying it effectively across several design pieces.
For several shows, I have applied show art and branding elements provided to the Shubert marketing department to various graphics, including digital display ads, lobby TV screens, billboards, and digital invitations.
The examples provided here show the ways in which I adapted the show art and branding elements for HADESTOWN to several marketing pieces- for each of these, I followed the shows' brand standards, and incorporated feedback from various departments as needed.

Signage and Web Graphics
I designed a number of assets to promote the Shubert Theatre's 2022-2023 Season: these include a digital signage graphic, and a new season graphic for the Shubert Theatre's website. Featuring the show art and logos provided to the Shubert Theatre's marketing team, and the large, bold headline on an angled background, I designed these graphics to give viewers a look into the excitement of the new season, even with just a quick glance.

Direct Mail Pieces
I have also designed multiple direct mail pieces for the Shubert: this includes the postcard shown below promoting the Shubert's KeyBank Suite. Featuring a vivid red and gold color scheme, and show photo assets provided to the Shubert marketing team within diamond-like shapes, this postcard conveys the distinct and special experience that Corporate Club members can expect at the Shubert Theatre.

Additionally, I also created a video to promote the Shubert Theatre's 2022-2023 Season: using clips from show reels that were provided to the Shubert's marketing team, I arranged several show clips and motion graphic titles with an energetic music track, to provide a glimpse into the excitement of the new season.
This video was shown at the Shubert Theatre's Gala on June 8th, 2022.
